Hiring a private driver is one of the easiest ways to get around Marrakech and Morocco, but not all services are the same. Here are seven things to check before you book.
1. The right vehicle for your group
Count your passengers and your luggage. A sedan such as an Audi A6 or a Mercedes E-Class suits one to three travellers; a Mercedes V-Class suits families; a Mercedes Sprinter carries groups of up to 17 people. See the Private Driver fleet.
2. Clear pickup details
For airport transfers, give your flight details and arrival time so the driver can follow delays. For hotels and riads in the medina, ask where the driver will meet you, as some streets are closed to cars.
3. What is included
Ask for the details in writing: pickup point, destination, waiting time, number of passengers and luggage, and the agreed route.
4. Professional, punctual drivers
Punctuality matters, especially for flights and train departures. Choose a service that confirms your booking and the driver’s contact details before the trip.
5. A contact you can reach
You should be able to call or message the service during your trip. Private Driver can be reached on +212 660-86-10-10 or at contact@privatedriver.ma.
6. Services that match your plans
Check that the service covers what you need: airport transfers, city-to-city transfers, hotel transfers, tourist excursions or shopping transfers.
7. References and reviews
Read independent reviews and ask for references before you pay or confirm a long trip.
